WHAT YOU NEED WHEN JOINING THE LIBRARY (Membership)
- FOR ADULTS (18+)
- Your Identity Document.
- Proof of Address not older than 3 months - If you do not have a proof of address the librarian assisting you can arrange a proof of address. This means we will mail a letter to you. Once you receive this letter at home bring it to the library, along with your identity document.
- The names, addresses and contact numbers of 2 contact persons that do not live with you and do not live together. (Very Important)
- Complete the form.
- A friendly librarian will assist you with any information you may need during the application process.
- ONLY YOU CAN REQUEST A LIBRARY CARD FOR YOURSELF - NOT ANOTHER PERSON.
Your proof of address must be a LETTER mailed to your house in your OWN NAME. Example - Telkom, Municipality, Edgars Account.
- NO AFFIDAVITS
- NO BANK STATEMENTS PRINTED AT THE BANK
You can have your card within minutes should all your documents be in order and all the information is correct.
When your card is ready you will be allowed the following
- 7 Books and 3 CD's for 2 weeks at a time. (3 RENEWALS ALLOWED) You may call the library at 021 444 0983 to renew your books, or renew online. Provide the whole number printed on your card.
- NO RENEWALS ARE ALLOWED ON ITEMS THAT ARE RESERVED
- 2 DVDs for 2 days. Example - if your DVDs are due the 2nd of July and you return it on the 3rd July, a fine of R7.00 per DVD will be charged.
- DVD's cannot be RENEWED (EXTENDED)
INTERNET
- 1 Hour every day
- 500 Megabytes per month (If you exhaust your data, you will have to wait until the new month before surfing the net again.)
