Book Review by Kim: The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Set in 1943 Spain, during WW II.  Max Carver’s father, an eccentric watchmaker, relocates his family to a quiet seaside wooden home. A series of terrifying encounters occurs, from discovering sinister statues in their back garden to encountering a terrifying spirit called the Prince of Mist, who is out to settle old scores.

Book Review by Stacey: William the Fourth by Richmal Crompton

First published in 1923, this is one of a series of books about an irrepressible 11-year old boy, William, and his adventures with his group of friends, called “The Outlaws”.  The fact that the books are constantly being reprinted is an indication of the timeless appeal of the very funny stories.

To that effect we will be handing out sandwiches and hot beverages to approximately 300 people. We will also encourage passers-by to join the library, and speak about our regular offerings such as the reference material, e-resources and free internet services.
