Book Review by Mariam "The Twelve days of Christmas" by Ian Beck
“The twelve days of Christmas” is a children’s
book about gifts that were given within the twelve days. It’s more of a poetry
book. It’s a quick read and very cute. A nice read for kids up to the age of 4
or 5. (After reading it, I found out that it’s actually a song.)

Book Review by Clayton D "Gremlin" by Chris Powling
For kids who enjoy books about aeroplanes. This
is a short gripping story. The author provides enough details about the events
happening on the plane and how he handled the situation. This book is for the
12-16 year age group.

Book Review by Aziza Davids "How to rule the world" by Andre de Guillaume
Funny! A read-for-pleasure recommendation. The
reader gets an insight into rulers & dictators past and present, and
possibly future dictators. Many tips on the do’s and don’ts, with fashion tips
a major popular factor.

Basically the book gives you tools on
how to create wealth and achieve happiness. There is also a step-by-step guide

Book Review by Nabeweya " The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz
Book Review by Glorine "Mio's Kingdom" by Astrid Lindgren
By the author of "Pippi Longstocking".
Fantasy - different from "Pippi Longstocking". It was
thought-provoking and initially sad. Would recommend it as a read-aloud book.

Book Review by Happiness " Reeva: a mother's story" by June Steenkamp
Sad story of loss and looking for
reasons for a mother's loss and for justice toward the death of her "last
lamb"; touching and informative true story
Book Review by Renee "Tintin: the complete companion" by Michael Farn
A lovely illustrated book with
photographs and animation drawings based on the actual photography. Tintin is
an all time childhood favourite.
Book Review by Stacey "Raising steam" by Terry Pratchett
What can I say about Terry Pratchett that hasn't been said - he is
extraordinary. This title is also set in the Doscworld, and is about the social
and economic consequences of the sudden development of a fast and cheap
transport system.

Book Review by Craig : "The Hogfather" by Terry Pratchett
This is a humorous dark satire with an
edge. The story keeps you rivetted but doesn't bog you down by taking itself
too seriously.

Book Review by Tania "Simon vs the Homo Sapiens agenda" by Becky Albertalli
Simon has been chatting with the mysterious 'Blue', and thinks he may be
falling in love. When a classmate discovers the emails and threatens to expose
Simon's still-hidden homosexuality to the school, Simon has some difficult
decisions to face. This book is funny, thought-provoking and a wonderful
glimpse of teenage drama, friendship, love and exploration.

Book Review by Crystal "Go west, Amelia Bedelia" by Herman Parish
One of my favourite children's book characters. Amelia Bedelia is both
funny and likeable. Children of all ages will love her character, as she makes
them feel smart.

Book Review by Kaylene " Kushiel's Dart" by Jacqueline Carey
Fantasy novel, excellent world-building and real world parallels. World
filled with nobles, courtesans and politics. Religion plays a big role in the
story. Better than Game of Thrones. One of the main themes is "Love as
thou wilt".
